Competitive Bidding Yields Strong Prices for Diamond Rings

Doyle New York's Important Estate Jewelry auction on April 15, 2008 saw competitive bidding from hundreds of buyers in the salesroom, on the telephones, and on the Internet. This competition resulted in strong prices throughout the sale and an auction total of $3,590,950 against a pre-sale estimate of $2,495,950-3,537,650 with a strong 88% sold by lot and 89% by value.
Doyle New York is currently accepting consignments for the Fall 2008
auction of Important Estate Jewelry. The sale will offer jewelry
spanning the Antique, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and
Modern eras by some of the world's most prestigious makers, including
Cartier, David Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. Also featured
are fine watches and objets de vertu, including elegant compacts and
cufflinks.
