in the summer of 1948 in Paris, Matisse depicts a smiling ingenue
through his sparing use of lines (est. $90,000-120,000). Maurice

the Hogan Collection displays a country lane with a picket fence

Kisling (Polish-French, 1891-1953) was born in Cracow and studied

a snowy village scene (est. $30,000-50,000) and La Caserne de
Lourcine Bd. Du Port-Royal from 1923 depicts guards at a gate
with the flying tri-couleur (est. $25,000-35,000). Marie Laurencin's
(French, 1883-1956) Jeune Fille from the Hogan Collection
is a charming portrait of a young woman with a scarf over her head
(est. $15,000-25,000) and Bernard Buffet's (French,
b. 1928) Au Bon Coin offers a view of a café on a
village corner (est. $12,000-16,000). Andre Lhote (French,
1885-1962) is represented by two works, a 1956 Nude (est.
$15,000-25,000) and Seated Female Nude (est. $2,000-3,000),
and German artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner is represented by
his pastel on paper, Nude with Chair (est. $35,000-45,000).
