ABOUT THIS CATEGORY
Doyle New York offers original prints from the 17th through the 21st centuries in approximately fifteen sales each year. Included are a wide range of artists at all price levels.
Old Master, Modern and Contemporary prints auctions are held twice each year. Old Master prints in this sale feature works by such important artists as Rembrandt, Durer and Goya. Works by Modern European masters offer examples by Picasso, Chagall, Matisse and Miro. American prints may include fine examples by Whistler, Cassatt, Childe Hassam, Thomas Hart Benton, Martin Lewis and Grant Wood. Contemporary prints are highlighted by artists such as Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. This sale may also feature posters by such leading artists as Bonnard, Cheret, Mucha and Toulouse-Lautrec.
American Furniture and Decorative Arts auctions include historical American prints, typically featuring works by Audubon, McKenney & Hall, Bodmer and Currier & Ives.
Modern and Contemporary prints are also offered in the semiannual Doyle+Design auctions, and decorative prints are included in the Doyle at Home sale, which are held approximately 9 times each year.

Cindy Klein joined Doyle New York as Director of the Prints Department in 2000 and is responsible for the cataloguing and sale of prints and drawings in over twenty-five auctions each year. Ms. Klein has been in the appraisal and auction business for thirteen years, having previously been with C.G. Sloan and Company Auctioneers of North Bethesda, Maryland since 1991, where she was the Director of Prints and a Specialist in the Paintings Department.
Ms. Klein received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with honors, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She also pursued graduate studies in Art History at Rutgers University. Ms. Klein is a member of the Society for Japanese Arts and the American Historical Prints Collectors Society.
Ms. Klein has participated as a featured print expert on the Antiques Roadshow, a WGBH production televised nationwide on the PBS network. Ms. Klein is frequently invited to serve as an appraiser for museums and historical societies.
