Doyle New York will held an auction of Coins, Bank Notes, Postage Stamps and Medals on April 28, 2010. The sale showcased property from a variety of prominent estates and private collections, including the Estates of Henry and Elizabeth L. Necarsulmer, the Estate of Armando de Peralta, and the Estate of Sonja Caron Stein. A special section of the sale showcased a private collection of minerals and gemstones. With competitive international bidding from buyers in the salesroom, on the telephones and via the Internet, the sale totaled $407,427 against a pre-sale estimate of $321,100-411,100, with 77% sold by lots and 86% sold by value.

Fabulous group of many hundred coins with denominations from 1c. to $1 with better dates or mints, including twenty-three Large Cents dated between 1818 and 1855, twenty loose and thirty-nine Indians in a book dated between 1857 and 1907, four Two Cents pieces, thirty-five Wheaties, book of Liberty nickels with Good 1885 and 1886 examples, Buffalos complete except D/S and three-legged, Jeffersons complete to 1964 mostly Brilliant Uncirculated, a few Seated halves, thirty-two Morgan, sixteen Peace and four Eisenhower dollars, approximately $110 in 90% silver most of which is halves, six Columbian half-dollars and a few Canadian commons. A great lot with many useful items, condition varies from Culls to Brilliant Uncirculated.

Mixed assortment with good potential.

Selection of many hundred sheets issued between 1934 and 1999, the majority are commemorative 3c. to 33c. values in sheets or panes. There is the occasional low value definitive or dollar denomination such as $2.40 Moon Landing and $1 Trans-Miss values; a few booklets or Die-Cut panes. A useful group most of which is Never Hinged and condition varies from Fine to Very Fine. Face value was estimated by the owner at approximately $7,500 however this has not been verified nor is it guaranteed. A personal count is recommended.

Strong collection contained in Scotts National album with issues dated from 1850 to 1935, including #s 72, 78, 121, 122 and 166 all used, thereafter the majority of the issues are unused with or without gum such as Columbian 1c. to 10c., Kansas/Nebraska set, White Plains souvenir sheet, Air Post Zeppelin set of three o.g., and a few common revenues. Overall a clean collection with a few items heavily hinged but generally Good to Very Fine.
