Over 100 Guests Attended a Pre-Auction Book Signing Celebrating Charlotte Moss' Latest Book
On March 7, 2013, Doyle New York held the highly successful auction of the collection of acclaimed interior designer Charlotte Moss. The sale showcased over 400 lots of furniture, decorations and art from Charlotte’s homes in Manhattan; Aspen, CO; and Easthampton, NY; as well as objects from her former New York store.
With competitive bidding from the salesroom, the telephones and the Internet, the sale totaled a strong $668,094, far surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $266,280-409,095, with an exceptional 96% sold by lot and 98% sold by value.
"I have been collecting and decorating for a long time and the time has come to edit, do some redecorating, and make room for new purchases of my own," commented Charlotte Moss about the sale.
BOOK SIGNING: March 5, 2013
Over 100 guests attended a reception on March 5 celebrating the latest book by Charlotte Moss. Charlotte Moss: A Visual Life / Scrapbooks, Collages, and Inspirations (Rizzoli) is a lavishly illustrated book is devoted to gleaning design inspiration from the personal scrapbooks and notebooks of great women of style -- including Charlotte’s own scrapbooks. Also available were Charlotte’s earlier books, Charlotte Moss Decorates and Charlotte Moss: A Flair for Living.
