American Gothic Revival Carved Dark Stained Oak Library Chair Circa 1850 The arched pierced crest above a padded back decorated with a heraldic crest and padded arm rests ending in square terminals, over a padded seat, raised on columnar legs ending in casters, bears modern label stating Chair, 1855, Alexander Roux, New York, from 'Loudoun,' Lexington, KY, by A. J. Davis. Height 48 1/2 inches. C Sold to Benefit the Lee B. Anderson Memorial Foundation Sold for $1,625 (Includes Buyer's Premium) Estimate $800-1,200 Upholstery very worn and soiled. Loss to seat rail molding on all side. Crack in the left top of the crest rail. Old marks, scuffs, dents, small losses throughout.
