Pair of Late Regency Gilt-Bronze and Cut Glass Three-Tier Fifteen-Light Torcheres
Attributed to John Blades, second quarter of the 19th century
Each tripartite graduated standard with cut glass rectangular prisms divided by gilt-bronze bands, capped by a leafage urn-form mount with a faceted glass border continuing to downward scrolling leafage candle arms, hung with colorless glass prisms and later glass shades, the whole surmounted by a cut glass crown-form finial, raised on a hexagonal plinth ending in winged paw feet, on a further later parcel gilt and ebonized reeded cylindrical base ending in lions' paw feet. Height 9 feet 4 inches.
