Henry Moore British, 1898-1986 Maquette for Reclining Figure: Hand (LH707), 1976 Signed and numbered 7/9 on the base Bronze with dark brown patina from an edition of 9 plus 1 Cast Fiorini Ltd 3 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (9.5 x 14.6 cm) Provenance: James Kirkman, London, England Fischer Fine Art, London, England New Art Centre, London, England Literature: Humphries, Lund, Henry Moore: Volume 5: Complete Sculpture 1974-80, London, 1983, illus. (It is not designated which of the nine bronzes is illustrated) C Estate of Ann Thayer Sold for $101,500 (Includes Buyer's Premium) Estimate $70,000-90,000 Areas of green oxidation along the sides and top surface of the lower section of the sculpture. The figure has no green oxidation. The brown patina shifts in hue throughout the sculpture, but does not appear to be a result of wear, as it is not solely at the high points of the bronze.
