COOLIDGE, CASSIUS M.[ARCELLUS].
Collection of artist sketchbooks,
five large and five small, belonging to Cassius M. Coolidge. Various dates, mostly undated but probably 1900 and before. Almost all are completely full of sketches (many of high quality), mostly in pencil. The large measure approximately 6 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches (16 x 13.5 cm); the small 3 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches (9 x 13.5 cm). Many have his "Private Library of Cassius M. Coolidge" plate. Some wear and soiling, but in all a wonderful group.
Provenance: Marcella Coolidge, daughter of the artist, by descent from the estate of the artist.
