Memorandums of place cards issued by Owl's Head Studio 105 72nd Street, Bay Ridge New York City
New York: C. M. Coolidge, circa 1900. Original notebook, upper cover decorated by hand by Coolidge; within are 25 leaves of sketches for place card holders. Also included is a collection of 42 completed place cards painted on card, largely after the designs in the sketchbook. Many of these have dogs as themes. Wear to sketchbook, the prototype place cards generally in nice shape.
Provenance: Marcella Coolidge, daughter of the artist, by descent from the estate of the artist.
